Lover of all.things.slow. Dancer with the trees, gazer of the clouds.
The medicine of slowing down and the reclamation of rest have been a life changing experience for me. Having experienced anxiety and exhaustion in many guises throughout my life ~ from chronic fatigue in my 20’s to burnout in my early 30’s, I discovered the nourishing practices of yoga and meditation over 15 years ago on my journey to restore inner balance. My discovery of the inner arts and practices of yoga seeded a love for exploring my inner worlds, wellbeing, life philosophy, the art of being human and my reverence for the natural world.
My practices were to become my guiding light as my relationship with exhaustion, anxiety and overwhelm would be awakened again in my late 30’s and 40's as I entered an especially dark season of postnatal depletion after the birth of my son. During this time, I experienced the profound benefits of restorative yoga and yoga nidra. These practices became my lifeline, they held me, carried me and literally revived me back to life.
Today my rest practice continues to nourish my personal restoration, and be a loving, unconditional container during all seasons of life. My explorations with s l o w living continue to deepen my connection to the rhythms of the living world, inform my art practice, as well as expanding my journey of self discovery. From this place of embodiment, gratitude and service, I hold space for other women to explore the rhythm of rest and reclaim a rest practice that can hold and nourish us through all seasons of our lives.
Radical rest is the call to slow down; to make space for being in conscious relationship with what is around us and within us, it is the call to reclaim a pause, to be at home in a state of no ambition. I look forward to sharing in deep rest with you. Kate
